Amity Foundation, an internationally acclaimed Teaching and Therapeutic community is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual with a desire to teach and learn as a Learning Center Manager at our campus in Tucson, Arizona working with the children of the adults that come to us for help.

What You Will Do:

  • Effectively operate and manage all aspects of the Amity Learning Center, including community relations quality control and environmental management.
  • Create & Maintain a functioning, safe, positive physical environment for the children, including: ensuring that all needed supplies are available and maintained, furniture and equipment is maintained, maintenance requests are sent, is cleaned regularly, and needed resources are identified and obtained.
  • Prepare monthly reports, including tracking data and enrollment numbers; maintain files and enrollment date for each child.
  • Attending trainings, conferences and community meetings. Create and find training opportunities to improve services.
  • Work closely with the parents and families to provide referrals to other programs and relevant resources.
  • Regularly communicate with other faculty members, including meetings with the Dragonfly Village Director, project Development meetings, community gatherings, and other gatherings as necessary.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and training to volunteers.
  • Required to perform the responsibilities of a Head Teacher in the classroom.
  • Actively engage and energize Amity community members, volunteers, partnering organizations and donors.
  • Works closely with the Dragonfly Village Program Director to create a cohesive teaching environment.
  • Supports the Amity Foundation's mission and traditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • A minimum of High School diploma with relevant qualifying experience. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and/or Education is a plus.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a learning environment. Relevant experience teaching, managing and building a team.
  • Ability to maintain an awareness of Amity's mission and strive to promote the individual and social change goals it embodies.
  • Performs tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with Amity's policies and standards.
  • Maintains a creative, community -building approach to job performance and seeks to bring a constructive, problem solving orientation to all tasks.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to develop skills and creates opportunities to teach faculty and community.
  • Exercises professional judgment and discretion at all times in keeping with the responsibilities carried personally and by Amity for the care and welfare of the youth, families, and community served.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse faculty and excel in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Create a work environment where faculty and community members feel respected and appreciation.
  • Must have a current finger print clearance card
