About the Position:

This position is responsible to maintain clinical supervision and work collaboratively with California Correctional Health Care Services and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation staff. As an integrated clinical component at female institutions, this position is a licensed professional with experience in mental health services and trauma-informed care, who ensures provision of family-focused services and implementation of trauma-informed curriculum.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain clinical supervision, including review of client files, and have the ability to perform initial and/or ongoing client assessments.
  • Provide mental health structured therapeutic services
  • Provide gender-responsive, trauma-informed, structured treatment services, including implementation of trauma-informed curriculum
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling
  • Provide specialized classes and workshops relevant to the population (including Domestic Violence, Incest Survivors, Family Relationships, other topics as needed)
  • Work with Program Director and Supervising Counselor to Develop and maintain the program culture
  • Ensure the program has family-focused services and is trauma-informed
  • Integrate the assessed and stated goals of participants, work in coordination with the CCIII and the Supervising Counselor in determining continuum of care services for participants, including educational and vocational planning
  • Participate in case conferences

What You Will Bring:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, OR Another professional licensed by the State of California to provide mental health services in California; AND a minimum of TWO years of experience in providing trauma-informed services preferably to women.

All licensed clinicians must possess and maintain a valid California license, which is in good standing without current disciplinary action with their respective licensing Board.

  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical and social effects of drug abuse.
  • Knowledge of contractual requirements of ISUDTP is essential.
  • Operational knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Other duties as assigned
