About the Position:

As a Driver, you will be responsible to provide transportation for participants upon release from designated CDCR's institution locations to locations identified by the receiving STOP Placement Office and upon completion of STOP services to the participant's parole unit.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible to provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible transportation to participants receiving services in the STOP Program Area V to STOP locations upon release from CDCR institutions, and upon completion of STOP services to the participant's parole unit.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are kept clean and presentable.
  • Maintain accurate records of all participant transportation.
  • Maintain transportation authorizations.
  • Request approval from Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP) prior to utilizing overnight accommodation when transporting participants from remote locations.
  • At all times, adhere to safety standards and regulations established by California Department of Motor Vehicles;
  • Understand and appropriately apply Amity policies and procedures, and adhere to agency-wide practices and regulations
  • Protect program participants' health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information.
  • Participate in community building activities as appropriate to position.
  • Other duties assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • Be at least 21 years' old, possess a high school diploma or its equivalent AND a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with criminal justice populations.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and be eligible for Amity vehicle insurance.
  • Must satisfy requirements for CDCR gate clearance.
  • Knowledge of State of California Laws and Rules of the Road as stated in California Driver Handbook.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper attitudes and techniques towards program participants;
  • Ability to work co-operatively with STOP Area Transportation teams;
  • Ability to work constructively with diverse people and with parties that may have divergent perspectives and interests.
  • Understand and appropriately apply Amity policies and procedures, and adhere to agency-wide practices and regulations.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior in order to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participants.
  • Demonstrate proper attitudes towards program participants; and,
  • Ability to model professionalism, effective work habits and responsible living.
