About the Position:

The Prep Cook is responsible for planning food preparation in kitchens. Responsible for the preparation of all meals, assuring that the meals are prepared on time, assuring that sanitation, nutrition and safety are priorities at all times, and assuming responsibility for following all recipes in order to maintain quality and cost control.

What You Will Do:

  • Scheduling of students' work times.
  • Completing the Hazardous equipment inventory documentation
  • Leads and participates in-group, individual meetings concerning the kitchen and other therapeutic processes.
  • Formulates alternatives to the menu when certain items are not available that are within budget and nutritional guidelines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


What You Will Bring:


  • High School diploma or equivalent and ONE year of experience in the efficient operation of a culinary area. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to inventory items in conjunction to menu, order from authorized food vendor in the absence of the food director.
  • Ability to evaluate and document the progress of students who are assigned to the kitchen.
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise others and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to read and convert recipe card designed for the menus.
